The weapons that were used in the Battle of Tannenberg, were machine guns, bullets, rifles, handguns, and many more weapons. This supports the thesis because it shows how the war was intense and how the Germans beat the Russians. Many russians were poorly equipped and hardly had any rifles. Mostly all of the soldiers weren't trained well and there wasn't any good officers to lead the army.
The poor conditions affected the soldiers and lead to many deaths due to lice , rats infestation and there was a decrease of food. This can possibly support the thesis because many deaths occurred losing honorable people. The trench Warfare led to a long war because neither side could advance because they were both using machine guns and cannons. while the soldier were in the trenches they had to keep the same uniform they had and they needed to drink the water from the mud when there cantin was out of water.
There were many diseases while the soldiers were in the trench like trench foot and rat infestation. The way they had to take over the opposing side’s trench was to run close to it and throw gas cans full of petroleum and then they would use their flame throwers and burn and kill the soldiers in the trenches. then from that first trench they needed to repeat the process to get to the opposing side’s general.
