There were about 166, 00 German soldiers and in the Russian army there were about 206, 00 soldiers. During the battle the German made the first move by attacking the Russian second army. The Russian army went under retreat and later was destroyed. Many Russian soldiers were killed, wounded and taken to prison. In the end, the results of the war was that German took the victory due to their strong larger army.
Many battle tactics were out dated during World War 1 because most of the battles were a stalemate due to both sides using trenches. they also used the same weapons like machine guns, mortars, and flame throwers. To add on, throughout the whole world war these tactics were used in every battle between each side or country. lastly these are proven to be outdated because every country used these tactics to fight the war. Also they had the same idea to take over the trenches which was to throw petroleum gas cans in the trench and burn them alive with flame throwers.
